Setting Up a Gcam 6.2

Getting started

First of all, you need to change the Format

Some devices need to change the format in order to work. These are RAW FORMAT, VIEWFINDER, or IMAGE FORMAT.
Usually these options are in Settings/Advanced/Fix or Lab, depending on the developer... If it's not in this order just look for the word fix, it will surely be inside. If you still don't find it, the developer chose not to give access to these settings in his version, as is the case with 6.2 from Urnyx (at least for now).

OK, now let's explain::
RAW FORMAT = RAW10 (most standard)
ex: Everyone (EXCEPT SAMSUNG)

RAW FORMAT = RAW SENSOR
ex: S9 Series, GALAXY NOTE 9 - S10 Series (Snapdragon)

VIEWFINDER or IMAGE FORMAT = YUV (majority standard with API2 LEVEL3)
ex: S9 Series, Note 9, Android One (all), Mi9 and others

VIEWFINDER or IMAGE FORMAT = JPEG (common on APi2 Full devices)
ex: MI8, MI8 Lite, ONEPLUS 6 / T

So if you have a black screen on Gcam, This also applies to version 6.1, seeks to change this information and may resolve your problem.

Advanced Part 1

Well here we see some tools that you have seen that I do not use, but let's explain. If you have a basic knowledge of English it will help a lot. It is very intuitive and easy to understand.

  1. Dirt Lens: Dirty lens warning (I believe you need no explanation)
  2. HDR+ control: HDR ON OFF and HDR + Enhanced control on the main viewfinder screen where we took the picture
  3. Hide Moviment Icon: Hide Moving Shot icon, similar to the one on iPhone that shows you moments before the shot, the choice is personal. however Focus Tracking does not work if this is enabled
  4. Moviment: same thing from above, but you choose whether to enable the function and not just the icon
  5. Focus Tracking: Continuous focus when you click on the screen, no matter how your phone changes position, it keeps searching for focus in the same place as the click. I personally like this tool
  6. Enable Google Photos:Whether or not to enable direct viewing in Google gallery, personal taste
  7. Maximum Brightness: Turn on maximum screen brightness with camera open
  8. Compress DNG: Compress RAW file size for those who use it
  9. RAW and JPEG Control: Turning on RAW photo taking, useless for me on Gcam, I've talked about this several times
  10. Store videos: More efficient video storage is not yet compatible with all players, but saves memory
  11. Interface Theme: Interface theme, dark or light

HDR+ Settings

  1. Compress JPEG: Compression of JPEG file (photo) I always leave it at 100%, so as not to lose image information, help in editing, but the file gets bigger
  2. Quality HDR+: Choose the amount of frames to build the photo, I already explained that in the 6.1 tutorial, the more frames, the more information in the image consequently takes more time to make the photo
  3. AWB: White Balance Control. This greatly interferes with the photo. Personally I don't like Pixel 3's WB, it yellow daytime photos, but you can test and see if you like it
  4. Auto Exposure: Shutter Exposure Control, this determines the speed of photo shooting, the shorter the time, the longer it takes. I recommend leaving it on auto or 1/20 unless this risks blurring the photo if using a tripod or support to shoot a landscape or long exposure is cool to lower the time, people photo let in 1/20 even
  5. Exposure Compensation: Similar to that control we have on screen when we click to focus, up makes the photo brighter and down darker
  6. Binary Files or Libs: Libs are the heart of image processing, they control color, noise, arm balance, and more. You can use google stock or try modified ones, in which case I'm using a MOD that is Eszdman 2.5 as it is less contrasted than lib stock
